I started reading The Gunslinger at my local library, but I barely made it past 3 pages before I had to leave.  But then, I discovered the prequel comics, and started reading The Gunslinger Born.  It was amazing! Now I'm in the middle of The Long Road Home, and they've done it again!

I've found another fan of Dark Tower, very talented artist: alexandrasaschabelik.deviantar… , she should be a part of this group, I think...

Is there a procedure for submitting fanart? Do we just go for it? I feel silly asking...

I want to create concept art of the Dark Tower series for my degree project in Computer Graphic Design. Someone mentioned the possibility of copyright issues. Does anyone know of a site which describes creating artwork based on a novel? It's not like I'm going to sell the images, and I'l definitely make sure that people know they are unofficial. ANy help appreciated!

Well, the way I understand copyright law (In the US) is that you can use other's works (in this case, the Dark Tower) as long as you A) aren't making any kind of profit off of it, and B) aren't harming the reputation of the thing you're copying. If you're using it for educational purposes then I think the rules are even more lenient. But that's the gist of it. Of course, it doesn't hurt to give credit for you sources. (Obviously.)

Haha, yeah. I HAVE seen tons of people selling fanart and things they're probably not allowed to sell, but maybe it's better to be safe than sorry.

Massive fan of the series! I'm actually doing some artwork for my vision of it, and was wondering if I could get some feedback from the fans? More stuff coming very soon!
